Dr. Alexandros Makriyannis awarded the 2024 CMCR Pioneer in Medicinal Cannabis Research Award
Dr. Alexandros Makriyannis, Professor in the departments of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the Bouve College of Health Sciences and in Chemistry and Chemical Biology in the College of Science, has been awarded the 2024 CMCR Pioneer in Medicinal Cannabis Research Award by the Center for Medicinal Cannabis Research. This recognition adds to his impressive list of 8 awards, including being named an AAAS Fellow and receiving the AAPS Distinguished Pharmaceutical Scientist Award. With 402 published articles, 9 book chapters, 1 book, 25 grants, and 56 patents, Dr. Makriyannis’s groundbreaking work continues to push the boundaries of pharmacological research and drug discovery.
