His article \u201cRuling the Soviet Countryside Behind the Frontlines: Grain Procurement in Late Civil War-era Penza Province, Fall, 1920,&#8221; published in Russian History\/Histoire Russe, sheds light on an often-overlooked aspect of Soviet history.
