A second wave of wireless devices \u2014\u00a0including walkie-talkies and handheld radios<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 exploded across Lebanon on Wednesday, killing at least 15 people and injuring more than 450.<\/p>\n

The attacks come a day after\u00a0thousands of pagers owned by members of the militant group Hezbollah exploded<\/a>\u00a0across parts of Lebanon and Syria. According to\u00a0published reports<\/a>, those devices had been modified with explosions by Israeli spy organization Mossad at the \u201cproduction level.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shawn Bhimani<\/a>, a Northeastern University professor of supply chain and information management, says this type of warfare \u2014 in which components are modified somewhere along the supply chain \u2014 has been a method of attack for decades.<\/p>\n
