2024 AISES Most Promising Engineer or Scientist

The Most Promising Engineer or Scientist recognizes a professional engineer or scientist with less than five years of workforce experience after earning a professional degree with early technical contributions indicating a promising career.

Dr. Peltier has been awarded the 2024 AISES Most Promising Engineer or Scientist Award. Dr. Peltier is an accomplished early-career chemist with an impressive academic and research background. He earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry and Native American studies from Dartmouth College, followed by MS and PhD degrees in chemistry from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). During his doctoral studies, he spent time as a visiting researcher at the Université Grenoble Alpes and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of California, Berkeley.

Currently serving as a tenure-track assistant professor at Northeastern University, Dr. Peltier is focused on developing his own research program around interests that include designing new materials for sustainability, specifically targeting applications in energy storage and carbon capture.
