| Inclusive Teaching | Our students come from different economic, educational, and family backgrounds. They have different races, religions, and different ways of thinking. How do we possibly teach this diverse group of young adults? Inclusive teaching builds heavily on universal design for learning (UDL) but also requires a shift in mindset. This AFN will explore the participants’ views on students, learning, and accommodations and how those views can help or hinder student learning. We will explore both the nuts and bolts of universal design for learning and the current best practices for supporting all our students. | Third Monday at 4pm ET | | Bridget Smyser | Teaching Professor, Mechanical Engineering | Shelia Winborne | Teaching Professor, Philosophy and Religion | | |
