Establishing a Research Program in STEM

Designed for new tenure-track assistant professors in STEM fields, this workshop focuses on critical elements of setting up a laboratory program. Penny Beuning, Chair and Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, and Rebecca Carrier, Professor of Chemical Engineering and Associate Chair of Research, will discuss some of the challenges new faculty face, such as establishing lab procedures, selecting and managing graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, time management, and cultivating a healthy laboratory culture.
