Talking Back: The Genius of bell hooks

A prolific author, committed teacher, brilliant intellectual, and bold visionary, hooks left an indelible mark on generations of people including activists, artists, and scholars. This one-day symposium will consist of three panels offering formal and informal reflections about her profound and wide-ranging impact. This event is co-sponsored by the Africana Studies Program; the Department of Cultures, Societies, and Global Studies; the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program; the English Department; the College of Social Sciences and Humanities; Northeastern University Humanities Center; the John D. O’Bryant African American Institute; the ADVANCE office; and the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
