Your Husky ID card is your primary means of identification at Northeastern.
It allows you to enter the library and check out materials, obtain your parking hang tag if you will be driving to work, access the Cabot Gymnasium and, if you establish a Husky account, you may use it as a debit card on campus and at participating restaurants and stores.
To get your Husky ID card on the Boston campus, please visit the Husky Card Services Center at 4 Speare Commons in Speare Hall. The Card Services Center is open 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please call 617.373.8740 or email huskycard@northeastern.edu with any questions.
You will need to present a legal form of photo identification. If you are a faculty member at one of our network campuses, please connect with the appropriate associate dean for your primary college, as they can help direct you.
Monday, August 18, 2025: Virtual program on teaching and learning by Northeastern’s Center for Advancing Teaching and Learning through Research (CATLR). We will convene on Zoom. The day will include faculty and student panel conversations, interactive breakout sessions, and more. We will consider Northeastern’s signature pedagogy, experiential learning, and together we will explore strategies for engaging effectively and inclusively with students.
Tuesday, August 19, 2025, and Wednesday, August 20, 2025: In-person sessions featuring introductions to the university’s senior leadership team, our mission, research and instructional initiatives, and available resources. We also encourage you to use this gathering as an opportunity to network with other new faculty within and across disciplines over breakfast and lunch.
No, attendance is not mandatory. Many new faculty members find the event beneficial, but you are welcome to come and go as needed throughout the day. Please mark your attendance plans in your registration response.
No, the two in-person days of New Faculty Orientation (Tuesday, 8/19/2025 and Wednesday, 8/20/2025) will take place on the Boston campus in the Interdisciplinary Science & Engineering Complex (ISEC). Materials from these days will be uploaded to this website shortly after the presentations.
We encourage all faculty who need to travel for new faculty orientation to connect with their Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs to see if your college can support your attendance for the in-person event. These contacts can be found here.
You are welcome to join us at the fall New Faculty Orientation, but not mandated.
For spring 2026 hires, we will host an event (~two hours) in January covering much of the information you’d hear at the fall New Faculty Orientation. This is a great opportunity to network with colleagues also starting for the spring semester. You will receive an invite towards the beginning of January. We hope to see you there!

If you plan to drive to campus for college or departmental events, you should park in the Columbus Garage located at 795 Columbus Avenue, directly across the street from the Lightview Apartment Building.
Complimentary parking is available for Columbus Garage, which is reserved for faculty, staff, and students. This is the only parking area that will have complimentary parking.
The parking pass linked above allows for free parking at the Columbus Garage from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, and Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
The pass can be printed or scanned on your phone. Upon entry to the garage, pull a ticket as you normally would. When exiting, scan your entry ticket and then the barcode on the complimentary parking pass.
Our team is committed to providing attendees with as positive an experience as possible, and that starts with ensuring an inclusive space for everyone.
In the main event space, we have two lactation rooms (fourth and sixth floor) and there is a gender-inclusive restroom on the first floor.
The lactation rooms require a reservation, which we will happily facilitate for you, either beforehand or on the day of. Please contact Brittani LeBel Rousseau at b.lebel@northeastern.edu or find our team at the registration table during the event for assistance.
